The Newcastle Seafood Festival showcases why Throsby Basin  is the seafood capital of Newcastle. With the iconic Fish Co-op at its heart, the Seafood Festival showcases over 30 pubs, clubs, restaurants and takeaways in the area put on their best, most creative and impressive seafood dishes to wow your taste buds.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

From concept to completion.  Organising the main event with key participants, Newcastle Fisherman’s Co-op, involved the overarching theme of the event including the following:

  • Overall event co-ordination including naming of the event, championing the entire event & total organisation over the 3 day event
  • Development of engaging Schedule of Events:  Crowning Newcastle’s King Prawn Peeling Competition, Fish Co-op Tours, Talks with Local Fisherman, Family Fun Fishing, Kids Colouring In Competition, Roving Degustation Dinner,  Sea-Food Bites involving tourists and key food outlets in the Throsby Basin area
  • Funding application management
  • Sponsorship Management – bringing key sponsors onboard & promotion
  • Organising advertising through radio & social media
  • Development of the brand, website, signage, flyers, promotional merchandise & event prizes.
